Telemarketers

Dear Telemarketers

NO!!!

That is my answer to whatever you are about to ask me.

You seal that answer when you hit the redial button while I precariously balance a slippy wet baby in the tub, try to eat dinner, go to the bathroom, try to enjoy a moment to myself or just lay my head down for the night.  You call to offer me crap I would never buy repeatedly, the answer is still the same as yesterday, NO!

Same goes for donations, we are not jerks, we give to every family member, who is collecting for whatever cause, every time.  Calling me and trying to guilt me into your cause is not going to make me write you a cheque.

As we are trying to sell our house, I now answer every call and I am tired of dealing with you!

Your telemarketer trainer must have disliked you; seeing as you think it is appropriate to call me to convince me to change my life insurance, when I say no and you happen to hear my child in the background, you tell me a good mother would switch to your company.  Are you motherfarking kidding me!  Some smooth-talker you are.

When I say to put me on your do not call list, in a voice boarding on psychotic, you should really stop talking at this point.  You will never get a yes out of me.

Sincerely,

Me

PS - It is really not satisfying to hang up a cell phone as it is to slam down a receiver on an old school corded phone!

Welcome

WELCOME!
The cup of tea I made this morning is sitting in the microwave, waiting to be consumed after it's fourth nuke of the day.  I haven't showered today and I'm living in my sweats.  A lot of days dinner consists of something haphazardly thrown together because there is no time for anything else.

I refer to myself as Mommy or Mama, and to Frank as Daddy, and then talk about myself in the third person.  I am a mom to Finley, the most rewarding, challenging job in the world.  Below is a day in my life.

7:20 AM - Finley is babbling "Mommy, I'm awake, please come and get me now!"  I go into her room and she gives me a giant gummy smile and squeals at me.  I love it when she does that.  I change her, let her play for a bit, then food time!  She eats some and then tries to be cheeky and looks at me with the most adorable baby blues and smiles and starts to tell me about her night.  I know I shouldn't encourage her to be distracted during feeding time, but she is just so cute,  I can't resist smiling back at her and talking to her.

8:30 AM - downstairs we go.  I put her in her swing with her soother, so I can grab a bite to eat.

9:00 AM - time for more food and then down for a nap, maybe Mommy can have a mini-vacation (aka - Shower).

9:35 AM - what was I thinking, of course we will only have a nap today if I hold her.

10:30 AM - Playtime!

11:00 AM - bath time.  I am so lucky that she loves her bath, always has, hopefully, always will.

2:00 PM - I have to hold Finley and walk around in the house as she is quite cranky in the afternoons.  We play air planes on the bed and she giggles.  It is a wonderful sound, and a great distraction for a cranky baby.

4:30 PM - I start to feed her but she keeps falling asleep so it takes a while.  She is so cute though, I always find it so hard to disturb her.

6:00 PM - Daddy's home!!!!  My sleepy, cranky baby is suddenly full of life and gives Daddy a huge smile.  She loves her Daddy so much, everything he says and does is comedic gold to her.

6:30 PM - We start the bedtime routine.  Put her in her PJ's and turn the lights all on dim.  Not that it matters, she will be up for hours still.

7:30 PM - Could it be, she is actually asleep in her crib, Daddy is a genius!  He shall be dubbed the baby whisperer.

7:40 PM  - Spoke to soon.  She is up. I try to read her a story.  Finley prefers her own stories and starts babbling really loudly.  Daddy is laughing in the other room.  I know I should not indulge her, but she is just so darn cute.

9:00 PM - Let`s try this again.  Put her in a clean diaper, and in her sleep sack.  I feed her again.  It is so sweet how she likes to pet me while she eats.

9:45 PM - Daddy has taken her upstairs to try to put her to sleep.

9:55 PM - Oops she is crying, I think Daddy needs some help.
